 BEDTIME STORIES

Don’t know why it’s time for bed
When it’s still light outside;
I’m two years old, for goodness sake,
So why can’t I decide?

Mommy says it’s time for sleep,
But I just want to play.
It seems to me that sleep can wait
Until another day.

My brother, Bob, is still outside;
That’s where I want to be,
But Mommy just won’t listen;
She’s not minding me.

I’ve fought her off the best I could,
But Mommy won’t give in.
I’ll close my eyes and pretend,
And when she’s gone, I’ll win.

Well-l-l, maybe I’ll just lay here,
A little while more.
There’s a dream just out of reach,
Sn-n-n-n-or-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-----
